Ageing in and through Data

What data can tell us (and not) about ageing now and in future?

As the first generation to age in a data-rich (i.e. computational information) world, this project leads us to ask:

What insights can data give us about ageing, ageing well and ageing in place?

And what experiences does the data not capture and why?

How can creative, codesigned and human and more-than-human approaches provide insight into ageing in and through data?

In an increasingly data saturated and climate emergency world, there has never been a more urgent need to develop new sustainable models for ageing in place—especially through creative use of emergent technologies. In Ageing in and through data, we explore the everyday mundane practices in the divergent and complex cohort of older adults (or seniors, people 65 years and over) and their diverse modes of media and data literacy to consider the limits and possibilities of ageing in and through data now and in the future.
